5 Things You Need To Know About Renault Kwid

Kwid? What’s a Kwid?

Renault – the French carmaker that got us the Duster, Scala, Fluence and Koleos – has set its sights on the entry-level segment with their latest offering. And that offering we speak of is the Kwid.

How does it look?

Very good actually! It looks like a small SUV, which is pretty good considering that the other cars in its segment are Maruti Suzuki Alto and Hyundai Eon. On pure visual quality, let’s just say it’s clearly the best looking car in that segment.

What’s it like on the inside?

Spacious is the first thing that comes to mind. The Kwid offers good legroom, as compared to the other cars in the segment. Moreover it offers 300 litres of boot space, which means you can store actual luggage in it, and not just your gym bag or groceries.
The front panel comes with a premium-looking in-car entertainment system, with a 7-inch touchscreen display, with bluetooth and aux support. There are even power windows on offer.

Tell me about the engine

There’s that spanking-new 799cc petrol engine that produces 53bhp of power and 72Nm of torque. It’s mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Renault claims that the car gives a mileage of 25.17kpl – another best in class feature.
