September is the month when iPhones are usually launched in the market by Apple, and this year will be no different, according to fresh leaks. Start saving up, folks!
Apple tipster Evan Blass, known for his accurate predictions, has tipped the release date will be sometime around September 12.
Typically, the Keynote speech happens on a Tuesday while the product starts shipping the coming Friday. This year, September 12 falls on a Monday, so its safe to suffice the presentation will be held on Monday while the iPhones will start shipping from September 16, Friday.
The previous iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus released on September 9 and arrived in India, a month later. Apple is likely to follow the same pattern, this year as well.
While the iPhone 7 was tipped to launch in three variants – the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 Pro, new leaks suggest Apple will just stick to two variants this year.
However, the base storage has been increased to 32GB after a big hue and cry over its 16 GB variants being incapable of providing a good enough experience. The likely storage offerings will be 32 GB, 128 GB and a new whooping 256 GB.
The iPhone 7 Plus may include a dual-camera setup, along with a Smart Connector at the back, like the iPad Pro, allowing for more charging methods and docking options.
Bigger batteries and the new Apple A10 processor will be the powerhouse behind the new iPhones, along with 3GB of RAM for the iPhone 7 Plus variant.
The home button has also been rumored to be 3D Touch enabled, along with getting a lot more functions. Because of the new processor and the rumored death of the 3.5mm headphone jack, the iPhone 7 Plus is likely to be 1mm. thinner than its older brother.
There has also been a lot of conflicting reports that Apple may finally be ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack in favor of a USB Type-C port.
A new Space Black color variant is also touted to be released with the iPhone 7.
